This is a 70% cabernet franc dominant blend with the rest cabernet sauvignon. The cab franc certainly gives it that lightly angular linear structural feel, while the cabernet chimes in with the depth and definition on the palate. Lifted red and black fruits on the nose. The palate has quite a firm thread deep within the bright fruit notes and a slightly savoury finish. In many ways a slightly Old World wine and as a result terrific with food.

92 / 100
Full ruby with blue and red berries, bay leaf and pencil shaving aromatics. Medium weight with a richness of fruit that is well harnessed by fine, granular tannins that drive it long. A lot to enjoy here

Tasting Notes

The La Bratta Rosso displays bright violets, blackcurrant and plum with spicy undertones. A complex, savoury and rich style that is full bodied with a very ripe and fine tannin structure. Flavours of blackcurrant and underlying dark cocoa are pronounced. A long, persistent and intriguing wine that is drinking beautifully now but will reward patience.
