Biscuity, coffee-ground oak rises up out of the glass, followed closely by a cascade of dried mulberry, cassis and cocoa. In the mouth the wine is fresh and spicy; layers of soft tannins tumble over one another taking with them fruit and flavour as they go. A lovely wine, very elegant, and brilliant value at $25.
