Arlewood
Estate is set to move into a bright future with plans for new plantings
and building developments. Soil preparation is about to begin, prior to
the establishment of trellising and irrigation networks, one year in advance
of the planting of a new block of Chardonnay.
The
cuttings will be from Arlewood Estate's own Mendoza clone stock, for a
low yield, yet high quality harvest of premium fruit with great flavour
intensity. Taking advantage of the undulating landscape, an in-ground
wine store area will be cut-and-built into a hillside and attached to
the new cellar sales building, providing naturally cooled, improved storage
conditions for the wines.
Our
long term goal, once all of the vineyard is planted and established, will
be to build our own on-site winemaking facility, however, there is a lot
to be done on the way, and our main focus will always be to continue Arlewood's
tradition of growing the very best fruit for the very best wines.
